Two Minds Working Together

About Me
I am an accredited Cognitive Behavioural Psychotherapist and supervisor with 10 years of experience in primary care mental health, hospice-based bereavement counselling and youth counselling.
In addition to private practice, I have worked for an NHS commissioned IAPT service for over 10 years. This national service provides evidence based therapies under guidelines known as NICE. As a Cognitive Behavioural Therapist, I provide therapy support to individual clients with a wide range of depression and anxiety disorders. I also provide therapy support to Couples who are experiencing difficulties in their relationship.
I started my career as a general nurse in the 1980's and learned that most people have the capacity for physical healing given the right level of care and support. Supporting others and facing my own challenges led me to develop a passionate interest in counselling and psychotherapy.
I trained at Roehampton University and continued at Surrey University where I gained insight, both theoretically and experientially, into how our minds work. I strongly believe people have the ability to heal mental anguish with the right level of support and understanding.
